Last night, those of us at Bethel Church suffered a tragic loss. Our good friend and brother, Jimmie Carmickle, died suddenly at his home just a short distance from where Lisa and I live. At this time, the cause of his death is unknown.
Jimmie was known by the children and even some adults as the “Candy Man”. He also has served over the years here at Bethel as our treasurer and a long time Trustee/General Board member, helping us make important decisions concerning our church and the ministries God has entrusted us with. He was very outspoken in his support for the work in Kenya, including the issue of us opening a 2nd radio station in Kenya. Jimmie and his wife Linda have been faithful members of Bethel since the mid 70’s, and I personally have know them for that long.
As you may fully know, our church family is grieving over this great loss. His wonderful wife Linda is suffering in mourning over this tragedy. We ask that you please keep her, their only son Ross, and their two grandchildren in your prayers. We will keep everyone informed on funeral arrangements as they become available.
