    • Lee from Tucson here… this was a great WVB Pastor, keep ’em coming! Right now my mother in law (Lourdes) is going through a lot… she’s suffering from severe depression which has gone on for years, and she’s been on various medications for years that have never really worked right (personally I wouldn’t expect them to, I’m trying to encourage her to get off everything), and 2 years ago her younger of 2 daughters was killed by a dump-truck that ran a red light. The main problem (as I see it) is that my wife’s family is Catholic. Lourdes has been slowly but steadily moving away from Catholicism, due primarily to input from myself and a few other people, and the fact that when her daughter died, her Catholic church did not reach out to her at all, whereas a Baptist church with only a 2nd or 3rd-hand indirect relationship to her took the time to come to her house and bring her food and try to comfort her. The devil is attacking this woman, and she has even had suicidal thoughts. I’m doing everything I can to talk to her, text her, send her scriptures, tell her what to read in the Bible (because she doesn’t know where to start), and to gently lead her further away from Catholicism, and to biblical Christianity. She does read the KJB. The main problem is my father in law, her husband, who isn’t a very religious man at all, but for some reason is extremely loyal to what little Catholic faith he does have, i.e. he’s a die-hard Catholic in name only. Tradition, not offending his upbringing, and not knowing anything else or being curious, these are his prime motivations/reasons for being Catholic. He is very adamant about her NOT “converting”. They occasionally attend mass. I’ve warned her about attending Catholic mass… about the communion, about the priests, about the statues, the confessional, the holy water… I showed her the 2nd commandment which is removed from Catholic Bibles. She says that the encouraging scriptures I have showed her are really helping… Book of 1/2 Thess., Romans, the Gospels, Galations, but I don’t know that to be true yet personally… like, she may feel better temporarily, but what I want for her is to be saved, and to have a deep and firm hope that is always present regardless of her circumstances, and then for her family to be saved as well. I am sharing this with you to ask you to PLEASE pray for my mother-in-law Lourdes, her depression, her forsaking Catholicism entirely, her family (husband, daughter, granddaughter, sisters, parents, ex-husband). I am here and willing to be the vessel used by God to bring her truth and the comfort of the scriptures, God willing your prayers will help me to be effective in this endeavor. She is such a wonderful wonderful lady, and she has SO much faith, she just needs to know and understand the Bible so that her faith is a true saving faith properly vested in the right places… Christ. The Word. Thank you in advance for your prayers, PM and anyone else who sees this too. God bless.

      • Oh I also meant to say, Thank you for this teaching, because I think it may be perfect for Lourdes right now. I hope that you will have her in mind as you continue this study in parts 2 and perhaps 3. I want her to relate these devils you’re talking about to her depression and also to the Catholic church and various aspects of their mass and their images and their rituals. Thank you.

  3. If a developer wanted to build in a new area outside of Tucson, AZ, a study had to be done to determine if there was a certain type of owl’s nest in the vicinity. If so, new development was not allowed. Of course, the very costly, timely study was to be incurred by the developer. Interesting.

  4. Wow, this was an intense episode. I remember in the past hearing that Harry Potter’s owl was supposed to be female also (even though the female owls of that type aren’t snowy white). And lately I’ve been seeing articles about ‘human barbie dolls’ and Japanese/American gyaru fashion in which women put emphasis on having extraordinarily large eyes.

Very interesting stuff especially with the anime connection. Makes me wonder about the origins of anime in general. There is a video worth watching about the UFO topic that goes into the research of Dr. David Jacobs and his findings, from a Biblical point of view, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zlyx9CVM4o

Even about speaking of the music industry, I remember when Owl City, who claims to be a really strong Christian, was really big…and of course, now one of his songs is constantly playing in promotion of the Hotel Transylvania kid’s movie. I’m very wary of his stuff… particularly about the subject matter of some of his songs along with the obvious name of his band.

So many pieces of the puzzle. Thanks for this, Pastor Mike! God bless you!
